Medical Records Specialist - Onsite

Job Summary: Administrative Assistant V – Medical Records Specialist (Onsite)
Location: Phoenix, AZ | Rate: $21/hr | Contract: Until 02/06/2027

Key Responsibilities:
- Register patients in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Collect payments from patients.
- Prepare, maintain, and update electronic medical records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Deliver excellent customer service as a first point of contact for clients.
- Gather and verify patient data accurately.
- Handle confidential medical information securely.
- Perform basic computer and data entry tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months experience registering patients in a healthcare EMR system.
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience gathering patient data and creating medical records.
- Experience with cash handling or cashiering.
- Certification as a Public Health or Community Health Worker, or currently enrolled and eligible for certification within 6 months.

Additional Requirements:
- Must obtain and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Must pass a background check.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Compensation: $21.00 per hour
