Position Overview
The City of Columbus is seeking an experienced Architect with strong Business Analysis and Project Management skills to assess approximately 20 custom applications and recommend modernization or replacement strategies. This role involves close collaboration with business users, facilitating workshops, and delivering structured recommendations aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and document business and functional requirements
- Assess existing C#/.NET applications with SQL backend
- Research and recommend application modernization or replacement strategies
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings (virtual and onsite)
- Coordinate project planning, scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Act as primary point of contact for application assessment initiatives
- Develop work estimates, project plans, and solution documentation
- Guide and direct Business Analysts and application teams
- Ensure solutions align with business strategy and technical standards
- Present findings, recommendations, and documentation to leadership and executives
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience
- 8+ years of experience in:
- Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Project Management & Work Planning
- Application Architecture / System Analysis
- Strong experience with:
- C#, .NET applications, SQL databases
- Functional documentation and solution design
- Ability to:
- Lead stakeholder discussions and workshops
- Manage cross-functional teams and deliverables
- Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills
