Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (CODE PA) is seeking an experienced AEM Solution Architect to assess and optimize the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Cloud platform supporting PA.gov. This role will lead architecture evaluation, define a long-term support model, and provide strategic technical guidance for enterprise digital platforms.
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (CODE PA) is seeking an experienced AEM Solution Architect to assess and optimize the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Cloud platform supporting PA.gov. This role will lead architecture evaluation, define a long-term support model, and provide strategic technical guidance for enterprise digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct architecture assessment and platform review of AEM Cloud implementation
- Identify risks, over-customization, and optimization opportunities
- Define support models, transition plans, and governance frameworks
- Provide architecture design and technical leadership across AEM (Sites, Assets, Forms)
- Collaborate with product, UX, engineering, and vendor teams
- Establish documentation standards and knowledge transfer processes
- Guide security, performance, code reviews, and best practices
- Support decision-making, risk analysis, and technical strategy
- Oversee vendor performance and future technical scope planning
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10+ years of experience in enterprise content management or digital platform architecture
- Strong expertise in:
- Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) – architecture, implementation, and support
- Java, Sling, Dispatcher, and front-end integration
- Enterprise platform assessment and architecture design
- Experience with:
- Vendor-built systems and transition planning
- Technical documentation, governance, and support models
- Collaboration tools (Confluence, SharePoint, Azure DevOps)
- Strong communication skills for executive and technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service (Cloud Manager, pipelines, DevOps)
- Experience in platform governance, change management, and procurement processes
- Experience with public sector or large-scale digital platforms
- Knowledge of AEM security models and accessibility standards
- Relevant Adobe or architecture certifications
