Job Description

The City of Phoenix Water Services Department is upgrading its asset management system through a collaborative initiative involving Water Services IT, business units, and the City of Phoenix IT department. We are seeking a Technology Operations Coordinator to act as the central liaison, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and timely execution across all stakeholders involved in this critical project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner in identifying project goals and delivering value-added solutions

  • Coordinate and manage competing priorities across interdisciplinary teams

  • Collaborate with business units to gather needs and translate them into actionable IT requirements

  • Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable deliverables for technical teams

  • Prepare business cases, executive-level summaries, and project documentation

  • Ensure compliance with IT audit procedures and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain clear, consistent communication through written, verbal, and presentation methods

  • Track and follow up on assigned tasks and action items to ensure accountability

  • Maintain a structured cadence of updates (daily/weekly status meetings, progress reports, summaries)

Qualifications

  • Background in Business Analysis, Business Relationship Management, Operations, or IT Project Management

  • Experience working within large municipal, enterprise, or utility organizations

  • Proven success collaborating across interdisciplinary teams

  • Strong documentation, communication, and executive-level reporting skills

  • Understanding of IT audit procedures and regulatory compliance (preferred)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with asset management systems or large-scale IT implementations

  • Familiarity with municipal or utility operations

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Compensation: $41.00 per hour
